Well,I am flattered..some of the unqualified purveyors of Audio Video in the Algarve-who all of course watch Projectiondreams for inspiration-are blatantly copying us -or rather trying to copy us,in how they operate and install-even on their Facebook pages.
Of course there is a difference between a nicely decorated room with some decent kit thrown in and a TRUE Custom Cinema implemented by THX and ISF professionals who have actually PASSED their exams many year ago and accumulated many years of experience-not just sat a 2 day course!..
By the same token,a guy from a burger van doesn't become Gordon Ramsey by watching one of his programs..;-)
A true cinema by professionals will perform,will have synergy of the kit-whatever the pricepoint,and will of course adhere to specific technical criteria,I will not damn anothers work because to do that would mean I would have to point out what was clearly wrong and that initself is good free advice..
I have no bitterness to anybody that loves A.V. -quite the opposite-and I welcome fair and honest competition-be nice to get some..:-)
The bottom line still remains the same,Projectiondreams are the MOST qualified A.V. company-we can prove that-and we shall repeatedly show that through quality,originality and technical prowess...our time with all things A.V. over a combined 45 years means we know what works best with what..we do not rely on any distributors mantra..we establish through knowledge and experience our own benchmarks--and do -with themed cinemas and cinema 360 cinemas desire to continue to create the original and unique..

CINEMA 360 HOME AUTOMATION
Hello Folks!
For many years now,Home Automation or Intelligent Home- as its also known, has been complicated,problematic and costly,more annoyingly the *off the shelf* package HA systems like AMX,CRESTRON and lately the cheaper variant.CONTROL 4 all require *locked down* projects scenarios..
This means that the company that installs said system registers the project -normally the programmer- & gives the client a password and sign on..BUT..its then incredibly difficult for that client to change/upgrade UNLESS they go back to the original company that installed..
..In short,its made purposely complicated to ensure the client goes back to the original company and pays through the nose for every change.. god help the client if he/she decided to go with another company,that other company without the original sign on details have things somewhat tougher..resulting in a bit of a mess for that client..
Over the last 3 years we have corrected and simplified many such situations where in some cases the original installing company has *gone to the wall*..or just vanished..and left the customer in a right mess...
The current vogue has been CONTROL 4..now CONTROL 4 isnt too bad,but its still a *locked down system* and only embraced by many in the Algarve because its supplied by one distributor who makes great margins on it and promises to assist the dealers with any *issues*....so this distributor rushes them through very basic training and charges for the priviledge of course..their aim being that EVERYONE offers CONTROL 4...soon i expect to see it in the butchers..:-)
This mentality enfuriates me because a little knowledge is a dangerous thing in the Home Automation industry-and the distributor doesnt care ,they will willingly perpetuate mediocrity as long as they earn out of it...and this isnt fair on the guys that are indoctrinated that its the best thing since sliced bread..
The truth?..it isnt..none of these off the shelf packages are,in this era of IPAD they are over priced and over complicated..they are relics of an age where there were no alternatives..when programming was 1500 euros per day...
These days are almost gone..thank god...and Projectiondreams have been developing and refining a completely custom system for over 3 years using a mixture of todays technologies and the latest U.S.applications.....
We have an incredibly simple system now..and 50% of the cost of an equivalent Control 4 setup for example with not only as much functionality,but the ability to tailor uniquely to the customers needs-even down to the look of the GUI...not *locked down* in any way..current in the IPAD age..
We do not source off a distributor,we deal direct with numerous manufacturers to continually have an adaptive system appropriate to this fast moving IPAD age..
I believe for many years the consumer has been *ripped off* with the cost of Home Automation..some might say its still happening.. ..
I want to change this,I have brought our custom solution into the realm of the IPAD age-an intelligent home system that interacts with todays modern technologies as opposed to sitting in a seperate world of yesterday!..
This is the perfect compliment to our custom cinema prowess-no longer ridiculous costs from home automation inflating the cost,top quality at a sensible price made simple....

When i speak of *digital* systems,its whereby speakers have accompanying digital amps..either in the speakers themselves or in standalone units.

One of the first times I heard Meridian was in the `80s at the Heathrow Penta Hotel nr Heathrow airport...they were beautiful looking..and the sound was so crystal clear it was unreal!!!
Since then every incarnation has been stunning-there are many imitators,..NONE are as good as Meridian ,who have the experience and pedigree forged over more than 30 years.

THE BEST SPEAKERS IN THE WORLD RANKINGS.
I am often asked what I think are the best speakers in the world?
This is a difficult question,because price must come into it..and value..just because somethings really expensive doesnt mean its really good,there are a lot of expensive lemons in the Audio world.
For example,Shape Audio sell a speaker made of solid gold that sells for $7,000,000!!!
Different technology comes into it as well,I strongly believe some technologies have advantages over others..and for handling sound I would rate the technologies like this..1.Horns...2. Electrostatics and Planar..3.Direct Array.
Also,I have preferences for music and preferences for movies..few cut it with both...
For Audio,I pretty much agree with this list..with Martin Logan and Magnepan placing incredibly high versus their price...and Meridian in there as well..

Now,my 4 personal faves are the following,both great at Movies and Music..in this order..
1.Meridian DSP 8000 (*Great all rounder..crystal clear)..DESTROYS any digital speaker..
2.Klipsch THX Ultra 2 *(better for movies..deep and dynamic sound)
3.Martin Logan (*better for music..pin point sharpness)
4.Magnepan (* Superb expansive sound for Movies and Music)
Best Value?..Klipsch,without a doubt,in most speaker lists Klipsch are sandwiched in the top 10 between far more expensive speakers..

THE IMPORTANCE OF EXPERIENCE.
Hello Folks,
I would like to talk a bit about what diffrientiates Projectiondreams from other companies.
We are at current the only company in the Algarve with THX and ISF credentials..but there are a few good companies in the u.k. with these credentials for example..Though, few who have been ISF professionals for 15 years like myself or have onboard THX professionals with many years of experience..
Nevertheless,there will also be some companies in the Algarve try and play catchup or try to aquire *badges* to be able to say to customers they are the same as Projectiondreams..(when of course they are not..)
In fairness, as much as im proud of our THX and ISF heritage and qualifications,we are somewhat more advanced now in terms of our Cinema 360 ideology...and indeed have started our own seminars of training courses for professionals that already have THX and ISF..

Im not being ostentatious, but there is NO competition to projectiondreams in the Algarve in the realm of cinema,there is no company as experienced or that has shown such innovations as us...and can prove that with a body of work as accomplished as Projectiondreams.
