Hello Folks,

Often I am asked,,"Whats the greatest sounding speaker"?..

My answer is always the same.."Is your priority Movies or Music"?

Then I speak about the different speaker technologies available and the kind of sound they produce..

..And there are so many types..Horn,Electrostatic,Digital,Planar,Monitor etc..

At Projectiondreams we sell what we believe sound the best in their categories-this is based on over 40 years experience of Audio..

I personally own Magnepan planar speakers..they deliver a very expansive,enveloping  sound..but they are huge!

I also love Martin Logan Electrostatic speakers..they have a sound all of their own and sound superb with vocals..very sharp and crisp...

Meridian of course are UNTOUCHABLE in the digital market..nothing comes close ,beautiful clear sound,,superb if you are a jazz fan..image beautifully...

Then there are Klipsch Horn speakers..magnificent all rounder..incredibly deep sound,their THX speakers sound superb---

..But there is one other favourite of mine..M & K SOUND  THX monitor speakers...many years ago I heard a THX demo with M & K S150\s partnered with McIntosh amps..possibly the best speaker demo I have ever heard..of course these were the speakers used by George Lucas at Skywalker Ranch when the Star wars Movies were mastered..M & K were at the start with THX...one was synonamous with the other...incredibly accurate speakers..the Movie reference in the mixing stage at many studios...Disney and Paramount included..

Now they are back with the S300 THX set..

So,for my new showroom in Luz ,I thought lets try them..and they sounded AWESOME!!!

..One week later...THX order them for their new demo room...Im so tempted to say great minds think alike..but of course modesty prevents me...:-)

BUT...if you love Audio..you owe it to hear these..they are stunning..and with the new Dolby Atmos codec..another level...

I would like to alert you to a current business trend that I consider almost fraudulent..

I talk of virtual addess\s and "Multiple" locations that dont actually exist..you know the type  LONDON...PARIS ..PECKHAM...that sort of stuff..

Such things are designed to make the customer think they are dealing with a bigger outfit than they actually are..kind of "Oh,they must be successful"..they are all round the world!"..

Its a con..short and simple..its lying to the customer.

What you have to ask yourselves is this..If they can lie about this what else are they lying about?

Rosa Branca was born in Lisbon but has spent the last 27 years living in the Algarve.. Having studied Tourism, she knew from an early age that she wanted to be in direct contact with people. 

Her professional life began in a disco,then in radio where she was a DJ in the Algarve with her own Dedications Radio show!.

An avid Cinema and Music buff,she is active in the congregation and charity organisations bringing the same dedication,determination and self motivation that is now apparent in her job!

Mark Rawcliffe was born in Northampton but spent most of  his childhood in Dorset in the south of England.

Initially he was trained as a motor mechanic, but failing a position, entered in to administration in an insurance agency.

A family move to Liverpool saw the change from administration to a prestigious law firm prior to moving to Portugal to join the family run newspaper. 

His interest in IT lead him to form a leading repair company repairing iPhones, iPads and other smartphone.

The large 3metre wide ADEO ( parent company of Screen Research) 2.35.1 curved screen is acoustically transparent and hides the 3 x S300 M & K speakers housed in the THX baffle wall...a HUGE X12 sub complements the bass..bass you can feel as well as hear!

The sound is AWESOME..you will never have heard anything like this..circular arrangement to create a 360 degree sound field with sound above as well as to the sides and rear...

What makes it even more special is the "Flush Fit"  PANEL SYSTEM.tm..that we have patented ..the aim is no deviations in the sound field and the absolute erradication of sound reflections..

..And the picture...well it goes without saying that an ISF certified company for 16 years knows a thing or two about picture quality..and of course the brightness and picture dynamic..even the viewing distance.. is in conformance with THX picture ideals to achieve a 36 degree viewing angle...

Finally,all is controlled from the IPAD..all nice and simple...

BRINGING BACK THE RESOLUTION..

Hello Folks,

In the 1950s to the 1970s,Commercial Cinema used many techniques to combat the prolific uptake of Television.

Quality was the name of the game..the Large screen experience that t.v. could not match...so great widescreen formats like Todd AO and Panavision moved aside for Cinerama at 70mm ( A theoretical resolution of 8K) with a magnetic sound track able to be played through multiple speakers..

Of course that theoretical resolution of 8K dropped down to nearer 5K once the film had undergone scanning/prints etc..

For example,Sonys restoration of Lawrence Of Arabia took the 65mm original negative and scanned on two large format 65mmImagica XE scanners at FotoKem at 8K to capture the resolution of the 65mm negative, resulting in a file size of 8192x3584 pixels. ..but it was down scanned to 4K..

Even so,it has taken almost 50 years to match this quality in the home..

But for Audio Video consumers in 2015,its great times,because for the first time ever a top consumer Cinema can equal or indeed exceed a top commercial Cinema.

Its almost the norm for Projectiondreams to install curved 2.35.1. ratio large screens above 2.5 Metres wide,11 channel audio systems now expanded to at least 14 channels with the advent of Dolby Atmos..

No longer is the consumer the poor relation,in fact the experience in the home can be far better because light can be better controlled,the image can be uniquely calibrated,the audio precisely tuned to that space..the Movie chairs can be comfier..the experience more private with nobody caughing or talking on an I PHONE behind you...

A 4K (4 times the resolution of HD) image on a 3 Metre screen from a viewing distance of upto 5 Metres can be almost holographic...speakers placed perfectly for YOUR viewing position can create a far more enveloping soundfield..techniques applied to eliminate reflections ( which are prevalent in most Cinemas)

So..more comfortable..more tuned..more enveloping both in Audio and Video terms..AND the impact of that 4K resolution on that curved screen is akin to the best ever Cinerama experience..finally..

..But talk is cheap of course..Projectiondreams prefer to prove it in either our Almancil branch or Luz branch..both THX Dolby Atmos Cinemas with large 2.35.1 ratio curved screens showing an ISF calibrated image...

Projectiondreams have brought back the top Cinema experience using the latest equipment ..and together..we have brought back the resolution...

Essentially for the last 6 years there have been numerous allegations,Lawsuits,Dealers apparently threatened ..and such...

Certainly,from insiders within the industry we are told that customers confidence in these brands is at an all time low..
