MERIDIAN SPEAKERS**THE GREATEST DIGITAL SPEAKERS!

I want to talk a little about Meridian speakers,my favourite digital speakers at any price.

When i speak of *digital* systems,its whereby speakers have accompanying digital amps..either in the speakers themselves or in standalone units.

Meridian was started by Bob Stuart and Allen Boothroyd...Bob Stuart  studied Psychoacoustics, Electronic Engineering and Management at Imperial College, London. A passion for music soon led him to specialise in audio design. Allen Boothroyd  trained as a mechanical engineer, going on to study industrial design at the Royal College of Art.

 

Brought together by a shared love of music, their professional partnership was born of their desire to better hear it. Since founding the company more than 30 years ago in 1977, both have remained at the heart of their respective disciplines: Bob heading all technological developments; Allen leading the design team.

 



 

The results have been some of the most highly-praised audio equipment in the world, setting many a high-performance audio standard. As well as innumerable international awards for their components' performance and technology, Meridian's founders have the British Design Council Award for Outstanding British Products an unbeaten three times.

Based in Cambridgeshire, as they have been from the company's inception, every Meridian piece is still conceived, engineered, and built in the UK.

Keeping production low volume and high quality ensures the most outstanding results and speaks volumes of Allen and Bob's unswerving commitment to making the best.

One of the first times I heard Meridian was in the `80s at the Heathrow Penta Hotel nr Heathrow airport...they were beautiful looking..and the sound was so crystal clear it was unreal!!!

Since then every incarnation has been stunning-there are many imitators,..NONE are as good as Meridian ,who have the experience and pedigree forged over more than 30 years.
